My husband loves wheatgrass juice straight. My son won’t drink it that way but loves his in fresh orange juice*. We don’t have a wheatgrass juice extractor, so we place the wheatgrass in a high speed blender with some water and puree. Then we use a nut bag to separate the juices from the pulp.
*We love fresh orange juice straight from the juicer – it is frothy and ultra creamy. Just peel it before placing it in the juicer… and voila! you get creamy orange juice. Add a little wheatgrass juice and your kids will love it.
I was looking for wheatgrass smoothie recipes tonight and found your site. Got to admit I’ve never really thought of fresh OJ as creamy but now I’m craving some! 🙂 Mixing wheatgrass juice and orange juice sounds like a perfect combo that I think I’ll try out in the AM.
M. YES – we love creamy OJ straight from the juicer. 2 caveats – you do have to peel all the oranges prior to juicing and the creaminess doesn’t last overnight. But fresh from the juicer is wonderfully creamy! 😉 For some kids wheatgrass isn’t exactly their fave taste – but the orange juice masks it and it’s just like plain OJ – and if from the juicer, creamy OJ. Glad you found Mama In the Kitchen!
